South Lakes Wild Animal Park: One of the best places in Cumbria to see a great mix of animals - and you can get really close to many of them
Lake District Coast Aquarium, Maryport: This is the biggest aquarium in West Cumbria - great for a day out - and you could combine it nicely with a visit to the Roman Museum
Senhouse Roman Museum: An interesting museum with a good collection of Roman artefacts and exhibits.
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction: A great place to visit with young children with lots of fun things to do and see - in Bowness-on-Windermere
Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway: I did this the other day - a lovely trip up the side of Eskdale by train - I even wrote a piece about it. You can take the train up and walk down or hire a bike to cycle.
